Marquee Hire Information

Why hire a Marquee?

Marquee hire has become one of the most stylish ways to celebrate any size of occasion. From small private parties to large company corporate events, many hosts opt for large tents to house guests, creating lasting memories and great impressions.

Events organisers hire them for use in country gardens to host weddings and themed parties, and they have been rented for outdoor events like fayres and shows where indoor areas are required. They are even suitable for use in small town gardens where lack of space is common but where social events are a must.

An all year round solution, a marquee is a superior and lavish way to host an event without the need to predict the erratic UK weather. The sturdy tent like structures have evolved from the early days of cold floorless circus-like tents.

Marquees and event tents these have tough modern flooring, heating for the colder months, and creative mood lighting. They can be decorated to create themes and ambience whilst providing a lasting impression to guests.

They can be erected on uneven land, or lawns with a slight incline. With a higher budget, solutions can allow for one end, or the whole, of a marquee to be raised to accommodate deeper inclines or as a more permanent structure.

Types of Marquee

Surprisingly, there are quite a few types of marquee that can be used for a variety of events.

Classic Rope & Pole Tents
Made from a coated canvas, classic pole tents are a common option for those wishing to create a real lasting impression. This traditional style solution can look wonderful where there is no restriction on space.

They often come with a high roof and can be erected on grassy areas, though those with higher budgets sometimes take the option of raising a marquee up on concrete or asphalt. This offers a more permanent solution and can often be found at Hotels that regularly host weddings and special events.

Frame Tents

Frame tents are made using a coated canvas which allows the structure to ‘breath’, which helps prevent condensation and can keep heat inside in winter.

When compared to a more traditional marquee like the class rope and pole tent, it has no visible poles inside the tent, instead aluminium poles are found within the frame.

Being a very sturdy option, frame tents are very popular for use in areas with limits on space as they do not need the extra couple of metres for ropes and can be erected on many foundations. The hire of frame tents is popular with those looking to solve an issue with a difficult space, and to those seeking a modern solution.

Bedouin Tents

Moroccan, Indian and Chinese style pagodas offer up a great solution that is easy to erect on any surface, and in any small space.

They are a modern alternative and are largely used to host corporate events and parties with a difference.

Bedouin tents are inspirational in design and can be hired in all manner of rich colours and cloths that create a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere at summer parties, backstage events and themed celebrations.

Marquee Size

When considering marquee hire, considering the number of people attending the event and the available space is vital.

It’s a simple step of measuring the lawn or open space where it will eventually be erected. Town and country gardens can be accommodated, though the type of marquee may be depicted by the space – frame tents can be used in smaller spaces
